[Other] Congratulations to Frank A. Kraemer

Assoc. Prof. Frank A. Kraemer is one of the nine first "merited teachers" at NTNU.

Below is the committee's nomination text (in Norwegian):
“Kraemers pedagogiske virksomhet har en tydelig og dokumentert utvikling fra tradisjonell forelesning til teambasert læring (TBL) der etter hvert også det fysiske læringsmiljøet trekkes inn som en viktig faktor for å diskutere hva som danner det optimale grunnlag for studenters læring. Søkeren har en vitenskapelig tilnærming til undervisningsoppdraget. Han diskuterer Blooms reviderte taksonomi og hvordan denne tenkningen leder til en argumentasjon for arbeid i team fremfor individuelt arbeid. Hans utviklingsarbeid omfatter også alternative vurderingsmåter. Dette fremstår som godt fundert. Kraemer kan vise til utstrakt deling av sine erfaringer, blant annet på Læringsfestivalen og gjennom ulike andre former for formidling. Han har videre utviklet en opplæringsmodul/seminarserie om TBL for faglærere. Som pedagogisk leder har Kraemer i stor grad vært aktiv i sitt eget fagmiljø der han har fått andre med på å bruke TBL. Han har også hatt en viktig rolle i fakultetets FRIKT-prosjekt og i NTNUs arbeidsgruppe for innovative læringsarealer. Det foreligger en konkret plan for videre arbeid som merittert underviser.”

[Publication] Paper accepted at SmartEdge 2018

The paper "A load balancing algorithm for resource allocation in IEEE 802.15.4e networks" by K. Kralevska, D. J. Vergados, Y. Jiang, and A. Michalas, has been accepted for presentation at the SmartEdge workshop at the 16th IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications (IEEE PerCom) to be held in Athens, Greece from 19-23 March 2018.

[Talk] Post-quantum Key Encapsulation Mechanism Edon-K accepted by NIST as "complete and proper"

The post-quantum Key Encapsulation Mechanism Edon-K, designed by Danilo Gligoroski, was accepted by NIST as "complete and proper" for the upcoming NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization process. The author has been invited to present the algorithm at the First NIST PQC Standardization Conference to be held on April 12-13, 2018 in Florida (USA).
