[Visiting] PhD student Petra Stojsavljevic (Vizarreta)

Petra Stojsavljevic (Vizarreta), PhD student at TU München (Chair of Communication Networks) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. W. Kellerer, is visiting IIK/NTNU this week on a grant given by the COST Action RECODIS as a “Short Term Scientific Mission”. She will be working on the topic of dependability modelling in SDN together with Bjarne E. Helvik and Poul E. Heegaard.

[PhD graduation] Congratulations to Álvaro Fernández Fernández

Álvaro Fernández Fernández successfully completed his trial lecture and PhD thesis defence on Tue Feb 28 2017 and will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Telematics).

The title of his thesis is "Modelling and analyzing cost-effective dependability in passive optical networks" and the given topic for his trial lecture was "Impact of energy saving mechanisms in optical access networks on network performance".

The following committee had been appointed to evaluate her thesis, trial lecture and defence:

  • Prof. Lena Wosinska, KTH
  • Assistant Prof. Marco Ruffini, University of Dublin
  • Prof. Yuming Jiang, Department of Information Security and Communication Technology, NTNU

Álvaro Fernández Fernández carried out his PhD work at the Department of Telematics (now: Department of Information Security and Communication Technology), NTNU. His main supervisor was Assoc. Prof. Norvald Stol.
